Title | Peace in the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus: Good Practices and Recommendations |
Date | Tuesday 12 December 2023 |
Time | 12:00 – 13:30 CET |
Platform | Zoom |
Short Description | In October 2023, EPLO published a discussion paper aiming at illustrating through ten case studies how to pursue the integration of the peace component as part of efforts to implement the humanitarian-development-peace (HDP) nexus. The case studies cover a wide range of activities carried out by civil society organisations in different countries and regions in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Each case study is used to identify good practices and recommendations for the European Union (EU) in operationalising the nexus, particularly with regard to partnering with, and supporting, civil society actors. In this Brown Bag Lunch discussion, Lorenzo Angelini, Senior Policy Officer at EPLO and co-author of the discussion paper, will present the paper and some of its key recommendations; Anna Penfrat, EU Representative for Nonviolent Peaceforce, will share insights from NP’s experiences implementing the HDP nexus in different contexts; and Antonia Potter Prentice, Director of Alliance2015, will discuss their approach and the work of their members on these issues. |
Registration | Please note that this will be an online discussion. If you would like to participate, please register on this page. |
