EPLO Brown Bag Lunch Event – A threat inflated? The countering and preventing violent extremism agenda in Kyrgyzstan

9th July 2019 @ 12:00 - 13:00 CEST

Saferworld’s recently-published long read article entitled ‘A threat inflated? The countering and preventing violent extremism agenda in Kyrgyzstan’ looks at how – in response to a series of high-profile attacks and reports of recruitment into violent groups – donors, multilateral agencies, authorities and many (I)NGOs in Kyrgyzstan have shifted their attention to countering or preventing violent extremism.

Kloé Tricot O’Farrell is Saferworld’s Regional Conflict and Security Adviser for Central Asia and one of the lead authors of the report. She is currently based in Bishkek and provides support to Saferworld’s programmes in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Prior to this, she led Saferworld’s policy and advocacy work at the EU level.

Participants are welcome to bring their own lunch and EPLO will provide tea and coffee.

Please note that seats are limited and registration is mandatory. Please RSVP to Lorenzo Conti if you would like to participate.
