The Institute for Integrated Transitions (IFIT) is organising a panel discussion entitled ‘Building Peace from the Middle: The Innovative Model of Country Brain Trusts‘ as part of Geneva Peace Week 2020.
‘Go-between’ leaders play a crucial role in bridging national and community-level peace processes. Yet, their role is often overlooked and under-appreciated. IFIT’s brain trust model – a peace-building innovation – creatively leverages the unique strengths of this unique category of local leadership.
Speakers
- Phil Clark, Professor of International Politics, School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, and member of IFIT´s Law and Peace Practice Group
- Dhana Jimenez, Local Coordinator, Venezuela Expert Group
The discussion and subsequent Q&A will be moderated by Martha Maya, Senior Associate and Head of Latin America Projects at IFIT.
The event will take place on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 from
9:00 – 09:50 Geneva time via the Geneva Peace Week platform. You can register in advance here. On the ´Live Sessions´ page, scroll down through the agenda until you find ´Building Peace from the Middle: The Innovative Model of Country Brain Trusts´, click the ´Add to My Agenda´ button, scroll back up and click on the ´Register Here´ button, and then enter your details as prompted.
