EPLO MEMBER ORGANISATION EVENT – Film Screening and Debate: ‘Trafficked’

23rd May 2018 @ 19:00 - 22:00 CEST

The Quaker Council for European Affairs (QCEA) is organising a screening of the film ‘Trafficked’, followed by a debate with leading experts in the field of human trafficking and modern slavery.

It is estimated that 40.3 million people live as slaves today and that the slave trade was worth $100 billion in 2017. The film ‘Trafficked’ is inspired by real characters from the award winning book ‘Sex Trafficking’ by Siddharth Kara. It tells the story of three girls from America, Nigeria and India who were trafficked through an elaborate global network of illicit human trafficking, and end up as sex slaves in a brothel in Texas. Together they attempt to escape their enslavement.

This newly-released thriller will be followed by a debate with:

  • Kevin Bales, Author of the Global Slavery Index
  • Nick Grono, CEO of Freedom Fund
  • Conroy Kanter, Producer of the film

and moderated by Olivia Caeymaex, Peace Programme Lead at QCEA
