The Quaker Council for European Affairs and the European Network against Arms Trade are organising a screening of the film ‘Shadow World’. ‘Shadow World’ is a documentary that reveals the shocking realities of the global arms trade – the only business that counts its profits in billions and its losses in human lives. Based on the book of the same name by Andrew Feinstein, the film shows how the international trade in weapons – with the complicity of governments and intelligence agencies, investigative and judicial bodies and weapons manufacturers – fosters corruption, determines economic and foreign policies and undermines democracy.
The screening of the film will be followed by a discussion with:
– Andrew FEINSTEIN, author of the book “Shadow World”
– Laetitia SEDOU, European Network Against Arms Trade
– Olivia CAEYMAEX, Quaker Council for European Affairs (facilitator)
