The training seminar will analyse the EU’s institutional capacity regarding conflict prevention and peacebuilding. It will enable the participants to increase their understanding of the EU as a foreign policy actor, learn about obstacles and potential of the EU to do effective peacebuilding and provide them with concrete examples of advocating for more effective policies and programmes on conflict prevention and peacebuilding at EU level.
The training seminar will not address EU funding opportunities but will focus on EU policy on peace and conflict and advocacy towards the EU on these issues.
The two days will include a combination of theoretical and more practical sessions:
- Basic facts on the EU institutions and peacebuilding
- Discussion with EU officials on peacebuilding and EU institutions
- Sharing of experience on past peacebuilding advocacy strategies towards the EU
- Group exercise on devising an advocacy strategy towards the EU.
