Join DME for Peace this Thursday, January 27th at 9am ET/3pm CET for their first Thursday Talk of 2022! They will be joined by Nishandeny Ratnam, Senior Project Manager at Search for Common Ground and Purna Chowdhury, Senior Program Manager at Grameen Foundation, both of whom work on the Women and Girls Empowered (WAGE) Sri Lanka Initiative for a discussion on “Advancing women and girls empowerment in fragile contexts.“
WAGE is a global consortium led by the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative in close partnership with the Center for International Private Enterprise, Grameen Foundation, and Search for Common Ground. How do these organizations continue working in volatile contexts to advance the Women Peace, and Security and Women’s Economic Empowerment agendas? In this talk, representatives of WAGE Sri Lanka initiatives from Search and Grameen will come together to discuss how they have collaborated within the consortium and the activities they have accomplished so far in these contexts. The participants will also share their observations of interesting and unexpected results and offer the lessons learned for similar programs.
