Conciliation Resources – Brown Bag on A Peace for All Women

On Tuesday 24 February 2026 at 12:30-14:00 CET / Brussels time, EPLO hosted a Brown Bag Lunch session with Conciliation Resources on their newest report  ‘A peace for all women: Lessons from Peacebuilders on Intersectionality‘.

While women’s ‘meaningful participation’ in peace processes is now globally recognised as essential for sustainable outcomes, too often its implementation gets translated into box-ticking and number counting. In a context where conflicts are becoming more fragmented, and challenges like digital threats and the climate crisis affect people differently, responses to these shifts require expanding ‘meaningful participation’ to encompass the full diversity of women. This brown bag discussion will draw on a new report ‘A peace for all women’ by Conciliation Resources.

The report examines how power, identity, and inequality intersect to shape women’s experiences of conflict and their capacity to influence peace processes and outlines emerging insights from the efforts of diverse women to drive more inclusive and successful processes. The brown bag discussion focused on an intersectional approach relevant to both the political and policy dimensions of the EU’s peace and security frameworks. The discussion will also connect to EU commitments to intersectionality as outlined in the EU Gender Action Plan III, which establishes a gender-transformative, rights-based and intersectional approach and sets out the goal to address intersectionality of gender with other forms of discrimination.

Colleagues from the EEAS Equality Task Force and DG INTPA G.1 ‘Gender Equality, Human Rights and Democratic Governance’ also joined the Brown Bag and provide their perspectives.
