This meeting report presents discussions from a Civil Society Dialogue Network (CSDN) Funding Instruments Meeting on the implementation of the Multiannual Action Plan (MAAP) for 2025–2026 of the Thematic Programme on Peace, Stability and Conflict Prevention. The meeting brought together representatives from EU institutions and civil society to exchange views on the role of technology in peacebuilding and conflict prevention.
Discussions explored how technology is increasingly used across peacebuilding activities, including data analysis, early warning, engagement and strategic communication. Participants also highlighted key challenges, such as risks of “tech solutionism”, barriers to access, and the need to ensure that tools are adapted to specific contexts.
The meeting further emphasised the importance of a people-centred approach, combining digital and offline methods, and strengthening collaboration between the peacebuilding and technology sectors. It also outlined considerations for the role of the EU in supporting responsible, conflict-sensitive and inclusive use of technology in peacebuilding.
