On 18 June 2026, EPLO held a CSDN Policy Meeting in Brussels on the state of peace mediation and the role of the EU within it. The meeting took place ahead of the 8th EU Community of Practice on Peace Mediation, and brought together EU officials and mediation practitioners for a one-day facilitated discussion.
The discussion started from the changes in the global mediation landscape, where short-term and transactional approaches are gaining ground, and looked at what this means for the EU and its partners. Participants then turned to lessons from practice, including how to better connect mediation efforts across different tracks, and closed by identifying practical steps for the EU and its partners.
