EPLO Member Organisation Event – Early Warning and the Crisis of Multeralism

4th December 2019 @ 15:00 - 19:30 CET

As International Crisis Group’s (ICG) EU-funded early warning project is coming to an end after three years, ICG would like to conclude this collaboration with a reflection on Early Warning and the Crisis of Multilateralism.

Much has happened since the launch of ICG’s project in 2017. The European Union and its member states find themselves increasingly alone in defending a multilateral world order and a preventive approach to conflicts and crises. The rise of great power competitions and their regional and local fallout make the prevention and resolution of conflicts more complex.

Looking at lessons from ICG’s joint cooperation and examples from the field, Senior EU officials and Crisis Group Staff will reflect on how the EU can remain a strong global peace actor in this challenging environment and uphold its work on early warning and early action in the years to come. ICG and project partners Conciliation Resources and Saferworld would be delighted if you can join us for this exchange. ntentent

The conference will be on the record, and will be concluded by a cocktail reception.
