In October 2023, the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience (ICSC), through its Global Initiative for Justice, Truth and Reconciliation program (GIJTR), launched its State of Truth in the World Report (SoTR) – the first report of its kind, written largely by civil society experts from 18 countries with lived experience in conflict-ridden and post-conflict regions. The report offers key recommendations that should be considered in planning and executing future reconciliation and justice processes.

On May 7th, 2024 the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience–Europe (ICSC-Europe) – ICSC’s subsidiary regional entity – will be hosting a Brown Bag Lunch to present the SoTR’s findings to European civil society actors, policymakers, funders, advocates, practitioners and educators and engage in a conversation on the importance of navigating multiple truths and addressing root causes of violence in a collective commitment to peace building across the world. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A.
