Join DME for Peace on Thursday, August 22nd at 4 pm, as Alasdair Stuart of BBC Media Action, joins the M&E Thursday Talks to lead a discussion on “Conducting Research in Conflict Settings: Lessons from Iraq, Libya, and South Sudan.“
BBC Media Action uses mass media and outreach to support conflict prevention, conflict management, and peacebuilding across a range of fragile and conflict-affected settings. A key component of their approach is conducting research to understand their audiences’ lives and evaluate the impact of their projects.
Alasdair Stuart will reflect on the consistent challenges of carrying out research in fragile environments, explore how BBC Media Action has overcome these in three specific contexts (Iraq, Libya, and South Sudan), and discuss ways their research is informing project and program development.
