The Kosovo Specialist Chambers and Specialist Prosecutor’s Office, widely referred to as the “Kosovo Specialist Court”, is a hybrid international court established within Kosovo’s judicial system and located in The Hague. Its purpose is to try cases of war crimes which occurred between 1998 and 2000, involving the mainly ethnic Albanian Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).
Earlier this month, PAX published two reports on the Kosovo Specialist Court. In this EPLO Brown Bag Lunch discussion, the following experts will present the findings of the two reports and provide their insights on the status of transitional justice in Kosovo:
- Gëzim Visoka, Assistant Professor Peace and Conflict Studies, Dublin City University, who authored the report ‘Assessing the Potential Impact of the Kosovo Specialist Court’;
- Kushtrim Koliqi, Director of Integra, and Nenad Maksimović, Director of the Centre for Peace and Tolerance, who co-authored the report ‘Public Perceptions of the Kosovo Specialist Court: Risks and Opportunities’.
The presentation will be followed by a discussion with participants.
Participants are welcome to bring their own lunch and EPLO will provide tea and coffee.
Please note that seats are limited and registration is mandatory. Please RSVP to Lorenzo Conti if you would like to participate.
