EPLO Brown Bag Lunch Event – Ulaanbaatar Process: A Civil Society Approach to Building Peace in Northeast Asia

14th December 2022 @ 12:00 - 13:00 CET

The ‘Ulaanbaatar Process: A Civil Society Approach to Building Peace in Northeast Asia‘ is a unique civil society dialogue for peace and stability in Northeast Asia, coordinated by the Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC), Peace Boat, and Blue Banner. The process promotes effective regional Track 2 dialogue, and is the only standing platform that regularly brings civil society representatives from both North and South Korea to meet and engage with each other in peace dialogue.

The publication ‘Peace and Security in Northeast Asia – The New Normal‘ was launched in September 2022, on the occasion of the eighth meeting of the Ulaanbaatar Process. Ambassador Enkhsaikhan Jargalsaikhan (Blue Banner, Ulaanbaatar), Kim Jeongsoo (Women Making Peace, Seoul), and Jennifer Deibert (American Friends Service Committee, Washington DC) will highlight some of the burning challenges for peace in the region and the value of the inclusive regional dialogue for their resolution. Several other members of the Ulaanbaatar Process will participate in the discussions.

Please note that this will be an in-person meeting. Seats are limited and registration is mandatory. Please contact Lorenzo Conti if you would like to participate.
