EPLO Member Organisation Event: Prioritizing Investments in Local Women-led Peacebuilding Organizations in Coastal West Africa

13th April 2023 @ 14:30 - 16:00 CEST

Join Search for Common Ground for an online event on Prioritizing Investments in Local Women-led Peacebuilding Organizations in Coastal West Africa at the World Bank’s Civil Society Policy Forum, on Thursday April 13th, 8:30AM – 10:00AM Eastern Standard Time.

With an increasing strategic focus on peacebuilding in Coastal West Africa, this session will explore how local women-led peacebuilding efforts are prioritized and funded. Women peacebuilders support communities to address poverty, conflict-resolution, and social cohesion. Yet, rising instability in the northern regions of Coastal West African countries pose a major threat to some of the most vulnerable populations. As governments, international institutions, and civil society prioritize investments in communities, women peacebuilders are often at the forefront of these efforts – yet there is a need for equitable and sustainable approaches to funding and supporting women-led efforts.
