For this year’s international day of peace, swisspeace organizes a virtual event, where we will focus on the question of what consequences the pandemic – and particularly how states and international organizations reacted to it – has on peace and conflict: Does the world become more segmented, divided, and competitive? Or will a push for more joint endeavors and more common care result from it?
We discuss these questions with three eminent experts from China, Colombia, and Switzerland:
- Xiao-Nong Zhou, Professor, and Director of the National Institute of Parasitic Diseases at the Chinese Center for Tropical Diseases Research in Shanghai, China
- Víctor de Currea-Lugo, Professor, Humanitarian Worker and Journalist in Bogotá, Colombia
- Jürg Utzinger, Professor, Director of the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, University of Basel, Switzerland
- Laurent Goetschel, Professor, Director swisspeace, University of Basel, Switzerland (moderator)
