Search for Common Ground is organising a webinar entitled ‘Youth, Covid-19, and Crisis Response in Conflict Affected Areas: Challenges and Opportunities’. The webinar will be held on Tuesday 16 June, at 16:00 CEST.
We will hear directly from young people at the front lines of crisis response and peacebuilding, as well as policy experts advocating for youth-inclusive foreign policies:
Achaleke Christian, National Coordinator, Local Youth Corner Cameroon
Aguil Tong, Youth Officer, Search for Common Ground, South Sudan
Alviina Alametsä, Member of the European Parliament, Finland
Bria Smith, Board Member, March for Our Lives, USA
Mridul Upadhyay, Asia Coordinator, United Network of Young Peacebuilders, India
Mena Ayazi (moderator), Youth, Peace, and Security Advisor, Search for Common Ground, USA
This webinar will draw from Search for Common Ground’s recent policy brief Youth and COVID-19 in Conflict Affected Areas (attached and at this link). It will examine the protection and prevention needs of youth amid the pandemic and draw from youth experiences in crisis response and dialogue facilitation. It will also examine how international and national policymakers and practitioners can partner with and support youth peacebuilders during this critical time.
