In 2020, End Violence invested nearly $8 million in eight projects to keep children safe in and through schools and other learning environments through the Safe to Learn Call to Action in five endorser countries, including Lebanon. International Alert in partnership with Basmeh & Zeitooneh, the Center for Lebanese Studies (CLS), Damma Foundation and Sawa for Development and Aid are taking part in the Safe To Learn Initiative to prevent and address violence against children in their learning environments. The objective of the project was to increase the evidence base and capacity of schools and learning centres to reduce violence against children in areas with high concentrations of refugees in Lebanon.

This event will offer insights on the main findings, lessons learned and recommendations of the Safe to Learn project in Lebanon. During an interactive panel discussion participants will have the opportunity to hear the findings of the research conducted as part of this project aimed at generating evidence on effective approaches to the prevention of violence against children to inform the work of schools, non-formal education centers, and civil society actors.
