The Life & Peace Institute (LPI) invites you to a virtual discussion on Thursday 23 July 2020 (14:30 – 16:00 CEST) on its latest report- Global Peacebuilding Policy: Analysing Local-to-Global Engagement. This roundtable discussion aims to create space for reflections from those working in the peacebuilding policy space to reflect, learn and share with one another on what meaningful policy engagement in the global peacebuilding space entails.

In 2019, the Life & Peace Institute’s (LPI) Inclusive Peace in Practice initiative (IPIP) undertook a process to better understand the global peacebuilding policy space as well as our positionality as an institution within this space. With a wide range of other actors, we reflected on issues of meaningful participation, inclusion, bottom-up engagement and the spaces in which peacebuilding actors operate. One of the key outputs of this reflective process is a new report – Global Peacebuilding Policy: Analysing Local to Global Engagement – which looks at the current state of affairs in the global peacebuilding policy space from local and global perspectives, aiming to highlight what methods and approaches are used by global actors to connect local actors to global discussions, what opportunities there are for local actors to further engage with the global peacebuilding architecture, and what needs to shift in order to create greater inclusion and meaningful participation.

In this roundtable, they will present the key findings from this report as well as open space for reflections and discussion from actors in the peacebuilding field. Please find attached more information on the event.
